Lessons

A question to ponder:
Who (and what) are you trying to learn guitar from?
Is your answer:
a.  From a pile of books and dvds that have amassed by the promise that you’ll be an expert by the last page
b.  I sit in a dingy room in the basement of my local guitar store learning what my teacher feels like showing me that day rather than guiding me through a            customized learning path based on MY needs.
c.  I don’t have a teacher.  I’m self-taught but have hit a rut and don’t know what to, or how to, practice in a way that is effective and efficient.
d.  On YouTube from unknown, inexperienced people who have phones with a video camera and a “Share” button.

WANT TO BECOME A BETTER PLAYER?  WANT TO SEE IMPROVEMENTS QUICKER?  TIRED OF SPENDING MONEY ON BOOKS AND VIDEOS AND NOT GETTING MUCH FROM THEM?  PROPER GUIDANCE IS THE ANSWER.  LIKE YODA TO LUKE, YOU TOO NEED AN EXPERIENCED TEACHER TO GET YOU WHERE YOU WANT TO BE!

My teaching methods are simple, fun and yield results fast!

If you’re a beginner and want to know everything about guitar from the ground up or you’re a seasoned professional player who’s looking for a fresh approach and new ideas, I can help.

I’ve been playing for 27 years, graduated from Musician’s Institute: Guitar Institute of Technology, and became a GIT instructor,  spent the last 14 years as a pro touring the world over and over again, playing with some of the best musicians on the planet (where there REAL education is obtained).

This experience, combined with having a “ground-up” solo career: writing, producing, performing, engineering and mixing my own music and being hired for countless sessions gives me what it takes to be a well-rounded player. Let me share some of this experience with you through my internet lessons.

Why drive to some cheap music shop to sit in an uncomfortably tiny room for 30 minutes with a teacher who doesn’t have real experiece? Save on gas, sit in the comfort of your own home and playing your gear while we dive into all that is guitar in a fun and casual manner.

I PIONEERED THE ONLINE GUITAR LESSONS TO BE HIGHLY EFFECTIVE AND CAN:
  • provide a structured learning method that will guarantee results
  • help you finally understand ALL the theory you’ve been trying to figure out in a very simple and easily undersandable manner
  • help you see a chord progression and know exactly what to play over it.
  • help you become a VERY good improviser
  • help you VASTLY expand your vocabulary and technical ability
  • help you with song writing
  • help you with recording, producing, editing and mixing
  • …and MUCH more

SO HOW’S THIS ‘NET LESSON THING WORK?

Fill out the form below and we’ll agree on a day and time to do the lesson. Lessons are pre-paid using Paypal. Lessons are:

-$45 for a 30 minute lesson or $160 for a group of 4, 30 minute lessons, saving you $20! (Prices are for the lesson and include Paypal’s fees). And for your convenience, we’ll send you a Paypal invoice to remind you when payment is due.

Unlike other teachers, my lessons are extremely flexible. The lessons can be used whenever you wish. For example, we can do one lesson this week, then the next lessons in 3 weeks, then the next lessons two weeks after, etc. It’s up to you. The schedule is left flexible so that you can get the most out of the lessons and time in between to work on the material. Plus, I don’t charge for missed lessons (as long as I’m given 24 hours notice of lesson cancellation), we’ll simply reschedule. While lessons can be used at any time, no refunds are allowed.

WHAT DO I NEED FOR MY COMPUTER?

If you’re using a PC (anything non-APPLE), we use Skype. Skype is a free program that allows you to have a voice and/or video conference with anyone else who has Skype for free. It’s simple to set up and use. You can find the program here: www.skype.com

If you’re on an APPLE, we use iChat, FaceTime or Skype.

Regardless of the platform, you’ll need a webcam and a mic.  Your computer’s built-in cam/mic will work fine and will pick up the amp sitting in your room.  Most built-in webcams are 720p.  That’s ok, but 1080p is much better.  I use a Macbook Pro for my lessons, but instead of the built-in cam,  I use and recommend this webcam for video calls:  Logitech C920 1080p

That’s it!  It’s very simple yet highly effective. I’ve been doing internet lessons for 9 years now with countless satisfied students from all over the world including the USA, UK, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, France, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Portugal, Ireland, Austria, Argentina, Belgium, China, Russia, Turkey, Singapore, Germany and more!

To schedule or inquire further about lessons, please fill out the form below (recommended!) or email lessons@daveweiner.com.

I look forward to helping you become the best guitarist you want to be!

Dave

PS – Lessons make a great gift! You can buy my lessons and give them to someone else for birthdays, holidays, or any reason at all!
